THIS FLU SEASON......BE PREPARED! This year's flu season will be unique as we will have two vaccines available. The first will be the "seasonal" flu vaccine which we recommend to our older patients and those at risk for complications from the flu. The second vaccine is for the H1N1 (Swine) strain which is more likely to affect younger patients. EVMS Health Services physicians in family medicine, internal medicine and obstetrics will be giving both vaccines this fall. Find out all the latest information on H1N1 and take the self evaluation test at flu.gov Patients of Internal Medicine should call 446-8920 and select option 2 to schedule your H1N1 vaccination. Appointments will begin on Monday November 2, 2009. Patients of Internal Medicine may receive their flu vaccine at any scheduled appointment. Internal Medicine patients with questions about the flu vaccines or if you have flu-like symptoms should call 446-8920 and select option 3.
